Manuka Honey Cinnamon Mask
I wanted to try something different with my weekly Manuka honey mask this week, so I decided to do a Manuka honey cinnamon mask. I’ve never thought about putting cinnamon on my face. I use it a lot in my kitchen because I think the health benefits are pretty interesting, but on my face? This was a first.
Manuka honey has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and antibiotic properties that makes it really good for your skin. We all know that acne prone skin can get really red and inflamed so the honey will calm that down and if your skin has any bacteria on it, it will help to get rid of that.
Cinnamon has similar anti-fungal, antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Some people also claim it can plump up fine lines and wrinkles because it stimulates blood vessels beneath the skin. There is also some evidence that it may increase collagen levels for several hours after it’s applied.
Make sure that you use UMF Manuka honey and real Ceylon cinnamon rather than cassia. A lot of cinnamon in stores is actually cassia which doesn’t have the same health benefits.
You can also try using a couple drops of cinnamon oil instead of cinnamon powder.
Manuka Honey Cinnamon Mask Recipe
1 tablespoon UMF 15+ Manuka honey
1/2 tablespoon real Ceylon cinnamon
Mix the honey and the cinnamon together in a bowl. Apply to face and gently massage it in so that it gets into your pores and really stimulates your skin.
Leave it on for about 30 minutes then wipe off gently with a warm washcloth.
